Engr. Nwobu Nwabueze (MNSE) holds a B.Engr. (Hon) Mechanical Engineering, from the Federal University of Agriculture, Makurdi, and a Diploma in Aero Engineering from the prestigious Nigerian College of Aviation Technology (NCAT), Zaria.

He joined the Federal Ministry of Aviation (FMA) in 2006, from where he was appointed as the Principal Inspector of Accidents under the Accident Investigation and Prevention Bureau (AIPB), which was later transmuted to the now Nigerian Safety Investigation Bureau (NSIB).

In the pursuit of his career, he bagged many professional certificates in trainings/courses such as Aircraft Maintenance Engineers license, Aircraft Accident Investigation Certificate, Private Pilot License (PPL) NCAT Zaria, Managerial skill improvement workshop, Helicopter Accident Investigation Course from the University of Southern California, the United Kingdom Airworthiness course, Emergency Management Workshop, Accra – Ghana, amongst many others.

He was opportune to be the Investigator in Charge (IIC) in high profile Aircraft accident investigations such as; Investigations into air crashes of Bellview, ADC, Sosoliso airlines and many others. He drafted numerous Annex-13 preliminary and final reports which have been published and released to the public. He is also an ICAO certified instructor on teaching of Accident Investigation.

He is a member of several professional bodies, such as Nigerian Society of Engineers (NSE), Council of Regulation of Engineering in Nigeria (COREN), Nigerian Institution of Mechanical Engineers (NIMECHE), National Association of Aircraft Pilot and Engineers (NAAPE), International Society of Air Safety Investigation (ISASI), amongst others.

He is married with children.
